57,719 fans watched an exciting game at Seattle.  The Seattle Mariners offense
put up 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 1st inning and topped the Kansas City
Royals by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

Kansas City was unable to claim the lead after Seattle went ahead in the 5th
inning scoring one runner using 2 hits.  Kansas City had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Chuck Finley(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Finley got help from Rich Garces who was credited with his 2nd save.  Orlando
Hernandez(0-2) took the loss.  He gave up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of
work.  

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Finley said.
