Vladimir Guerrero cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Tropicana Field where the
strong New York (NL) Mets beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 14 to 8.

New York (NL) won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 6
runners on 4 hits.  The highlight belonged to Roberto Alomar who silenced
Tropicana Field as he doubled with all three runners coming home.  Tampa Bay
was out-hit by New York (NL), 13 hits to 8.  

Arthur Rhodes(6-4) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Turk
Wendell(8-4) was given the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 runs and 2 hits
in 1 and 1/3 innings.
